Recently, I encountered a project. The Special Inspection Institute required the design institute to add welding process requirements and surface inspection proportion instructions to the construction and design instructions. Dear masters, are the welding process requirements a document issued by the construction team or the design institute? Thanks!
The engineering drawings and equipment special drawings issued by the design institute should have requirements such as welding process requirements and surface inspection proportion descriptions. If there are no special requirements, the standards and methods used and related grade requirements should also be written.
According to the fixed capacity regulations 3.1.4.4 According to the requirements, the designer should indicate the welding and non-destructive testing requirements in the drawing.
According to TSG21-2016 No. 3.1.4.4 Article 1. If there are no special requirements for the welding process of the equipment, the requirements for the welding process may not be specified in the general design drawing. However, the requirements for non-destructive testing must be clear.
The welding process is generally the responsibility of the manufacturer. The design institute must propose the non-destructive testing ratio. This is related to the strength.
The welding process needs to comply with the requirements of NB/T47014, and the design unit is not required to put forward special requirements.； Non-destructive testing requirements must be given by the design unit.

Only the specified requirements are given on the general drawing. During specific manufacturing, the manufacturer shall formulate the welding process qualification according to the drawings.
The non-destructive testing requirements must be clear on the design institute's drawings. The welding requirements only need to clearly comply with NB/T47015. Some also add welding consumables to meet NB/T47018. Welding involves welding process qualification, or the welding process is determined by the manufacturing unit. If the manufacturing unit designs it by itself, the welding requirements must be specified in detail.
