Section 8.2 of the Boiler Safety Technical Inspection Regulations TSG11-2020 states that fully automatic boilers of Class B and below may not require on-site operators. What kind of boiler can be defined as a fully automatic boiler? Are there any regulations that clarify this? Thank you to all the experts
A fully automatic boiler is one in which the adjustment of parameters such as pressure, water level, temperature, and combustion (including fuel supply and air supply) does not require manual intervention; instead, the boiler’s control system handles these adjustments on its own. Fully automatic boilers of Class B and below, as their operation is fully automatically controlled, do not require boiler operators to be assigned for each shift.
