An air storage tank is an industrial device commonly used for purifying and compressing air, and it is also one of the special safety devices that are subject to strict regulation by the state. To ensure safe and reliable use, we have summarized the steps for selecting and purchasing safe and reliable gas cylinders into 5 steps. 01 First, it is necessary to consider the design pressure and the materials to be used. The design pressure must meet the requirements, and likewise, the materials chosen must also meet the specified standards; the thickness of the materials should be sufficient as well. It is recommended not to base your choice solely on price, as products with low prices are often likely to have lower quality materials used in their production; it is better to choose products made by manufacturers with a good reputation. Today, there is a wide variety of gas storage tank brands available on the market. When designing pressure vessels, a safety factor is taken into account, and these vessels are also equipped with safety valves that require annual inspection. Moreover, China’s design standards for pressure vessels are inherently more conservative than those abroad. So generally speaking, pressure vessels are very safe to use. We should choose products from large enterprises and well-known brands. The products of these enterprises not only strictly comply with the GB150-98 standard for steel pressure vessels, but they also have their own corporate standards. Moreover, these enterprises possess advanced production equipment, strict management of the production process, and high-quality raw materials. Although the products of these companies may be relatively more expensive, they ensure quality and peace of mind when in use. Furthermore, products manufactured by companies that have obtained various quality system certifications are also the preferred choice. 02 Second, consider the appearance. The appearance of a product reflects its quality level and value; only reputable and capable manufacturers have advanced equipment as well as a solid quality control system to ensure that the product has an impressive appearance. The trademark of a high-quality gas tank is very noticeable; the brand of the tank can be clearly identified even from 50 meters away. When approaching the gas storage tank, its body has a bright color, a uniform surface finish, smooth welds, and clear lines; therefore, it is best to purchase products that are newly manufactured. 03 Third, check the product label. The label should indicate the name of the manufacturer, the name of the inspection unit, and the date of production. There should be a seal from the inspection unit in the upper right corner of the label. The label must also show the product’s serial number, weight, volume, the maximum pressure and operating pressure it can withstand, as well as the pressure used for water pressure testing. It is also necessary to specify the medium contained within the gas tank. Right below the label on the entire tank body, there must be the product’s steel stamp number, and this stamp number must match the one indicated on the label. If the two numbers do not match, it is best not to purchase the product. 04 Fourthly, check the quality guarantee certificate. As per **relevant regulations, each gas storage tank must come with a quality guarantee certificate upon leaving the factory. This certificate is the main proof that the tank meets the required standards. Without such a certificate, even if the price of the gas storage tank is low, it is advisable for users not to purchase it in order to ensure safe use. 05 Fifth, consider the qualifications of the manufacturing company. A reputable and capable brand company possesses qualifications and a reputation that are beyond those of ordinary companies. There are some small enterprises that, although they possess permits for manufacturing pressure vessels, have outdated equipment and poor management practices; as a result, the gas storage tanks they produce can pose safety risks. Therefore, it is advisable for end-users to conduct a thorough assessment of various aspects of such enterprises’ qualifications in order to avoid unnecessary problems. Then you request the manufacturer to provide a maintenance certificate from the local special equipment inspection agency; when it is transported to the factory, it must be inspected again by the special equipment inspection agency in the company’s location. Generally, the exhaust pressure of air compressors is 7, 8, 10, or 13 kilograms, with 7 and 8 kilograms being the most common values. Therefore, 1/7 of the air volume produced by the compressor is usually used as the standard for determining the capacity of the tank.
