Several pictures of falling film reboilers, which are used in distillation systems as reboilers for distillation columns; the vapor phase and the unvaporized liquid return to the distillation column through the bottom outlet of the falling film reboiler. A proprietary film-feeding device is inserted into each tube. The grooves on each film applicator, as well as the corresponding groove angles, are carefully designed to create a tangential flow within the heat exchange tubes. Under the action of an optimal static head, the film distributor ensures the formation of a uniform and stable liquid film on the walls of the heat exchange tubes (at the desired film thickness). The key is to maintain an optimal hydrostatic head on the tube sheet. The downward-extending membrane head ensures that fine particulate materials do not accumulate in the dead corners between the tube sheet and the tube walls.
