This project is the first large-scale commercially operational green methanol project in the country, and it constitutes an important part of the strategic initiatives \"Hydrogen-Driven Jilin\" and \"Jilin Hydrogen to Shanghai\". The successful commissioning of this project not only enables the efficient and clean conversion of biomass resources, but also opens up new pathways for the utilization of new energy sources, facilitating a green and low-carbon transition in energy production. It provides valuable \"Taonan experience\" for the development of the new energy industry across the country. The 2000 m³ spherical storage tank used in this project to store medium-pressure hydrogen produced from green electricity-based hydrogen production was designed, manufactured, and installed by Shanghai Boiler Factory Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SHIBO). The 5 medium-pressure gas tanks have large volumes and high sealing requirements; they must function in low-temperature environments and withstand fatigue loads over extended periods. With a total hydrogen storage capacity of over 100,000 standard cubic meters, they serve as an important means for ensuring stable production of green methanol under conditions of direct power supply from wind turbines. An appropriate main material was selected for the vessel, the best structural design was adopted, and the design of the spherical tank was completed using analytical design methods. During the manufacturing and installation phase of the spherical tank, Shangguo overcame unfavorable factors such as a tight project schedule and severe cold conditions at the site; the first-pass qualification rate for non-destructive testing of all welds exceeded 99%, enabling the successful completion of the spherical tank construction task. These hydrogen storage spheres were among the first large-scale storage tanks to be constructed by Shangguo, following its acquisition of the A3 tank manufacturing license and the SAD analysis, design, and manufacturing license. It will serve as a key hub linking upstream green hydrogen production with downstream large-scale utilization. By establishing itself firmly in Taonan as a \"hydrogen foundation,\" it will provide solid support for Taonan to accelerate its integration into the **\"dual carbon\" strategy framework and to develop into a demonstration area for green and low-carbon development.
