Discussion on Adding Rain Covers to High-Temperature Flanges and Expansion Joints
It seems that a rain cover is indeed necessary to protect the sealing area of high-temperature flanges
I rarely go to the site, but once I was there and thought it would be good to have a rain cover for high-temperature flanges that don’t come with insulation boxes, otherwise people might get burned accidentally. The other advantage is that it prevents a sharp drop in temperature caused by heavy rain, which is somewhat beneficial for the flange seals and the stresses involved
Why not use a high-temperature metal seal insulation cover?
The rain cover is good, but the heat loss at the flange is too high
