According to Sinochem New Network, on December 10, the EO reactor of the EO/EG unit for the Sino-Saudi Ghulayyil ethylene project, which was manufactured by China National First Heavy Machinery Corporation, was shipped from the company’s nuclear power and petrochemical equipment manufacturing base in Dalian. This equipment has set a new world manufacturing record for the EO reactor with the largest diameter and greatest weight per unit, demonstrating China National Heavy Machinery Corporation’s technical innovation capabilities and advanced manufacturing skills, as well as highlighting the core value of Chinese manufacturing in major international cooperation projects. It is reported that the Zhongsha Gulei Ethylene Project represents a significant example of cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in the energy sector. It was jointly developed by SABIC and the Fujian Energy and Petrochemical Group, with a total investment of 44.8 billion yuan. It is the largest foreign-invested project in Fujian to date, and it also serves as a concrete manifestation of the integration between the Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Arabia’s 2030 Vision. “This project features good economic benefits, a large number of high-end products, low energy consumption and emissions, large-scale installations, and strong downstream driving effects; it is of great significance for ensuring energy security as well as the stability of industrial and supply chains. ”said Park Myung-ho, director of the Equipment Manufacturing Plant at Dalian Nuclear Power Petrochemical Co., Ltd. As a key core equipment for the ethylene project, this EO reactor has an outer diameter of nearly 9.3 meters, a net weight of 1,540 tons per unit, and contains 32,437 heat exchange tubes inside. This has ensured the straightness and concentricity of the tube bundles, reduced the production time required for drilling and chamfering individual reactor tube sheets, and set a factory record by completing the threading of 21,489 heat exchange tubes in just 7 days – demonstrating China National Heavy Machinery Corporation’s strong capabilities in the manufacturing of high-end petrochemical equipment. To date, China National Heavy Machinery Corporation has produced 37 EO reactors, with a total weight of nearly 40,000 tons, making it one of the largest manufacturers of ethylene oxide reactors in the world. At the same time, Fujian Energy Petrochemical Group sent a letter of gratitude to Dalian Nuclear Power Petrochemical Co., Ltd. of Yizhong Group, and presented it with a plaque recognizing it as an \"Outstanding Supplier\".
