Questions about stainless steel heat exchangers: At a heat exchanger factory in Zhangjiagang, it was noticed that the tie rods and baffle plates were all covered in rust. Rust has contaminated the stainless steel pipe. Given that stainless steel must be protected from iron ion contamination, why doesn’t GB151 require the use of stainless steel for pull rods and baffle plates in its design? Or galvanized tie rods, baffle plates?

It should not be determined by the shell material, but rather by the pipe material. Because the baffle is in contact with the tube, rust directly contaminates the tube
The material of the pull rod baffle is the same as that of the housing. When selecting a material, its suitability for the substance in question is taken into consideration.
