I am working on a new petrochemical project, and I would like to ask the experts: Are the procedures for installing and pressure-testing heat exchangers in line with industry standards? What are the key points to keep in mind?
Hehe, the most troublesome thing is parameter recording during the pressure holding phase. The data calculated from errors in the observed values due to changes in atmospheric temperature can be quite absurd :) In some special heat exchangers, pressure applied to one side causes the structure to deform, which in turn leads to an increase in pressure on the other side. Experience it firsthand at the site :)
First, check whether it is a pressure vessel – for example, those large preheaters used in heating furnaces. If you want to conduct pressure testing on-site, the pipe diameters are over three to four meters, so the difficulty can be imagined. The test pressures are all in Kpa.
