There are no baffle plates in HTRI, only support plates and an E-shaped shell; as for how to determine the number of support plates, that field is completely grayed out

In my personal opinion, the main function of the support plates is to provide support; whereas in addition to support, the function of the baffle plates is to improve fluid flow and reduce turbulence within the tube bundle, thereby increasing the heat transfer coefficient. Since the use of support plates is not intended to improve fluid flow, it is not wrong to assume that their effect in this regard is 0. As for the number and spacing of these plates, they can be determined through vibration analysis.
