Hello, I would like to ask some questions regarding coil heat exchangers. After reading Professor He Wenjing’s article on the design and calculation of heating coils in storage tanks, I am still a bit confused. On our end, we need to calculate the heating area based on the requirement that a fixed cylindrical container reach a certain temperature within a specified steam pressure and time frame. It is also the only commercially available, specialized software at present. VHeater is specifically designed to calculate such heat exchangers. You need to provide: Tank dimensions: diameter, height. Coiled tube specifications: outer diameter × wall thickness, material. Mixing: impeller type, diameter, speed. Heating medium: name (water, flue gas, steam?) ) Temperature, flow rate; inside the container: type and weight of the medium; heating time: as you desire. VHeater will carry out detailed thermal and geometric calculations.
How much is this software? What is the general ratio between the heat exchange area and the volume? Does 1 cubic unit require 1 square unit of area for heating?
Coil length, coil diameter, number of turns, pitch – it’s all available.
If you calculate for such heat exchangers frequently, it is worth purchasing. VHeatr can calculate many variations: for example, the fluid in the tank can flow in and out continuously, or a certain amount can be added at a time for intermittent heating. If you use it this time, I don’t recommend purchasing it.
I just don’t use it very often; is there any simple way to estimate it as well?:)
