Can a kettle-type reboiler replace a drum?

Can a kettle-type reboiler replace a drum? We are currently working on a project where the client intends to replace the drum and evaporator setup with a kettle-type reboiler. The operating pressure is around 12.2 Mpa, and the production capacity is approximately over 100 tons. May I ask whether, under such pressure conditions, a kettle-type reboiler can be used to replace the drum? If it’s not possible, then under what circumstances would it be possible?

Should a reboiler have this issue? ； For steam generators, it depends on the buffering time (especially whether the tube bundle can tolerate dry conditions), the diameter of the equipment, the capital investment required, and so on. Those who are concerned about dry boiling should use models with a vapor space; as long as there is liquid in this vapor space, the pot will never dry out. For those who are not worried about dry boiling, we do not use a vapor space – instead, an area is left at the top of the heat exchanger where no tubes are installed, for liquid-vapor separation (in this case, it’s difficult to keep track of the liquid level and thus prevent dry boiling).
