Questions about plate evaporators

In the design and manufacturing of plate evaporators these days, are the inlet and outlet pipe diameters on the refrigerant side all the same? I just consulted an engineer who said this is a trend, rather than the previous situation where smaller pipe diameters were used and then larger ones. A expert, please help clear up this confusion.
Calculate the flow velocity inside the pipe based on the medium; using less input and more output helps save costs. QQ1035366037
