Which type should be chosen for a heat exchanger that needs to be resistant to both acids and alkalis?
Why create such a difficult problem? It would be much simpler if we adjusted the material to be only alkaline (or only acidic) before it enters the heat exchanger!
It’s probably to give the heat exchanger multiple uses in order to save costs. Unfortunately, multi-purpose ones are usually just more expensive and more prone to damage.
The tube bundle can be made of silicon carbide or graphite, and the tube shell can be made of enamel; however, you need to take into account the pressure level.
