During the use of bk09.jpg plate heat exchangers, it is inevitable that misalignment of the plates in such exchangers may occur. After the plates shift out of place, leakage or external discharge will occur quickly, and it is necessary to address this issue promptly to ensure the proper operation of the heat exchange equipment. To address the issue of misalignment in heat exchanger plates, it is first necessary to understand the reasons for such misalignment in plate heat exchangers. 1. Reasons: (1) During long-term use, multiple combinations occur, and the flow rate and pressure of the fluid inside the heat exchanger also change significantly. When the heat exchanger is unable to withstand such pressure, misalignment of the plates in the plate heat exchanger takes place. (2) If the gasket of a plate heat exchanger slips out of its groove, misalignment of the plates can also occur. 2. Solution: (1) The on-site maintenance personnel can first remove the damaged plates and those that are leaking in pairs (Plate A + Plate B). If the number of misaligned plates is small and as a result the number of reduced flow channels is also limited, the equipment can be reassembled and continued to be used, with little impact on production. This solution is suitable for situations where there are no replacement new plates available on site and the equipment cannot be shut down. If conditions permit, it is best to shut down the machine for replacement and maintenance. (2) When the gasket of a plate heat exchanger slips out of its groove, to address this misalignment, it is necessary to replace the deformed plates as well as the gasket that has slipped out of its groove promptly.
