Our factory has a DG multi-stage centrifugal pump that, after operating for some time, shows a low current level. When the pump is stopped for a few hours and then restarted, it operates normally. What’s the reason for this? Please provide a detailed explanation. Thank you for your help
Is there any fluctuation in the process system, and is it evacuated? Check whether the pump body shows symptoms such as vibration or noise. Check whether the flow channel is blocked.
There’s no issue with the process; out of the three medium-pressure pumps, two are in use while one is on standby. I always thought it was due to air entering the pumps. When I went there in the afternoon, the pumps were working normally. Around 5 p.m., someone called to say that the pumps were making noise, and both the flow rate and current levels dropped. After stopping them for an hour, they started working normally again

Thank you all for your replies. I took the pump apart today; there was a problem with the inlet valve, which caused air to get inside the pump and prevented it from functioning properly
