When purchasing coated rollers, people want to get high-quality ones, but they are not sure which factors are related to the quality of the rollers. Actually, there are mainly these factors; let’s listen to what the experts have to say. Firstly, for the coating technology, two methods are commonly used: cold vulcanization and hot vulcanization. In particular, cold vulcanization is a very popular technique these days, and it is basically the method used in most cases. There is also the quality of the rubber; it is well known that the quality of the rubber directly affects the quality of the rubber-coated rollers. Secondly, those who apply the coating technology vary in skill level; of course, engineers with higher skills result in higher product quality. There are also differences in the manufacturing process; the technical skills of the workers vary, and this is another factor related to the quality of the rubber-coated rollers. Thirdly, regarding the maintenance of the coated drum: it is made of metal, and due to vibrations or other forces acting on it during use, wear occurs in the bearing area. There are many methods of repair, such as brush plating and surfacing, but each of them has its drawbacks; for example, some welding methods generate a lot of heat that cannot be dissipated. The material is prone to loss, and the parts may bend or break. Brush plating easily comes off, as it is made of metal; this leads to many problems, and it is not possible to eliminate the issue of hard-on-hard contact. Under the combined effect of various forces, the rubber-coated drum gets worn out again when in use. Finally, if there is damage in a certain area of the coated roller, it is not necessary to repair it entirely, as that would require a lot of time and money; instead, cold vulcanization can be used to repair that specific area on the spot, which is a very simple process. When making a purchase, it is necessary to consider advancement – the sophistication of the equipment’s technology, its level of automation, and the ease of operation. Yet practicality must also be taken as a foundation; practicality should come first, followed by advancement, in order to improve efficiency and maximize benefits. If possible, it is advisable to visit the manufacturer in person; this approach allows for greater caution, and by communicating with professionals, it can be ensured that the rubber-coated rollers purchased are suitable and of good quality.
