For the YB 560S2-4 450KW 10kv explosion-proof motor, there are rings at the front and rear ends of the internal iron core – what is the proper term for these? What is its main function?
For the motor’s short-circuit ring, if it becomes welded open, will the motor current be higher than normal?
It is standard equipment in squirrel-cage motors; that component is called the motor short-circuit ring, and it serves as a path for current in the rotor.
