A profile measuring instrument is a precision device used to measure the profile shape of the generatrix and the cross-sectional profile of various mechanical parts. Profile measuring instruments can be used for the profile inspection of various shaped steels. The profile measuring instrument uses 4 evenly distributed two-dimensional laser measurement sensors to measure the cross-section of the rolled material; these 4 sensors cover the entire cross-section of the material, ensuring measurement without any blind spots. The measurement software system fits the shape of the cross-section based on the data collected by each sensor, allowing the cross-sectional shape and key dimensions of the rolled material to be displayed intuitively on the software interface. The application range of profilometers covers the profiles of any cross-sectional shape, such as circular, square, deformed steel bars, hexagonal, rail beams, T-shaped, H-shaped, and other long products. At the same time, the full-coverage measurement method enables the device to conduct qualitative and quantitative detection of defects on the surface of rolled materials, such as folds, warping, pits, grooves, and bulges. The profilometer integrates the latest industry technologies, meeting all the requirements of most modern rolling mills for high-precision and high-frequency measurements. It enables the immediate identification of defects in rolled products, helping operators to promptly detect defective items and thereby improving the profitability of the production line. By monitoring the cross-section, the profilometer then generates a high-resolution image of the entire surface, allowing for the detection of local and periodic surface defects as well as changes in the dimensions of the rolled products. The equipment is mainly equipped with a duckbill side-blowing dust prevention system, a self-circulating cooling system, an automatically height-adjustable lifting platform, an embedded intelligent module, a host computer control system, and an external LED display screen. As online automated inspection equipment installed on production lines, they enable rapid measurement of various steel types, while also saving costs associated with purchasing separate testing devices for different shapes of steel.
