In design, mechanical structures operating at high temperatures are commonly encountered, yet it is difficult to find the allowable stress values for the materials used under such conditions.
The situation in this area domestically is rather chaotic; many different standards exist, but each standard has its own scope of application. For the same material at the same temperature, the allowable stress can vary.
