A power-free roller conveyor is also known as a roller belt conveyor. There are two types: long roller conveyors and short roller conveyors. The surface shapes of the rollers in long roller conveyors include cylindrical, conical, and curved types, among which cylindrical long roller conveyors are the most widely used. The curved sections of the conveyor roller track use conical rollers or double-row cylindrical rollers to enable the items to turn. Short roller tables can reduce the spacing between rollers and have a lower weight. The conveying components of a power-free roller conveyor need to be lubricated regularly, which ensures the proper operation of the conveying equipment and extends its service life. The operator must regularly lubricate the roller bearings on a monthly basis, and also periodically check whether the idler rollers rotate smoothly and if there are any abnormal noises. Before starting up, a routine inspection should be carried out; materials, tools, and miscellaneous items should be placed on the idler roller conveyor. After shutting down, all kinds of waste left over from the day’s machine operation should be removed from the various working areas of the idler roller conveyor. Non-powered roller conveyors can cause damage to various components used in conveying materials over extended periods of time, especially the conveyor belts that are used to carry different types of materials. The accessories of the power-free roller conveyor have a poor groove formation of the conveyor belt, and the support idlers do not rotate smoothly; therefore, a conveyor belt with better groove formation was installed. Due to their simple structure and ease of maintenance, powered roller conveyors are widely used. Operators of these conveyors must pay attention to the upkeep and maintenance of the equipment in their daily work, and lubrication is particularly important for powered roller conveyors. Below are several common lubrication methods for power-free roller conveyors: (1) Check the temperature changes in the lubricated areas of the conveyor rollers; the temperature of the shaft system should be kept within the specified range ； (2) Oil should be applied regularly for lubrication between the pressure-applying screw and nut; those screws and nuts that are not used frequently should be sealed with oil seals ； (3) Keep the tools used for the power-free roller conveyor equipment in good condition; clean them regularly, inspect them frequently, and ensure they remain intact and clean ； (4) For the lubrication points of gravity-fed roller conveyors that are automatically lubricated, it is necessary to regularly check the oil pressure, oil level, temperature, and the oil delivery volume of the oil pump, and address any issues that arise promptly ； (5) The lubrication operator of the power-free roller conveyor should conduct regular inspections, paying attention to any oil leaks or abnormal changes at the lubrication points, and address any issues found promptly.
