Siemens valve positioners are a type of positioner that is widely used in everyday life. SIPART PS2 adds various diagnostic functions that can provide information such as the status of the locator and valves, as well as operating conditions. However, any measuring device that is used for an extended period of time will develop some faults, which in turn affect the proper functioning of the locator. Fault code 1: The CPU test indicator on the display screen of the Siemens valve positioner SIPART PS2 flashes, once every 2 seconds. Fault analysis: The issue is caused by the piezoelectric valve not switching. Solution: Wet compressed air causes water to accumulate in the valve branch pipe; it is necessary to remove this water from the valve branch pipe promptly. Fault code 2: The actuator moves in only one direction or cannot move at all in manual or automatic mode. Cause of the fault: Water present in the valve’s branch pipes. Solution: Initially, correction can be carried out step by step using dry air; if necessary, correction should be performed in an oven at a temperature of 50–70°C. Fault code 3: SIPART PS2 stops at RUN5, fails to reach FINISH, and the waiting time is >5 minutes. Fault analysis: The issue is caused by problems with the valve actuator, component assembly, or the operation of the actuator itself. Solution: Adjust the other installations between the actuator and the accessories ； Travel actuator: Check the installation of the rod on the actuator shaft ； Linear actuator: Check the installation of the coupling wheel bolts.
