“Which standard or book states that when the inner diameter of the branch pipe of a pigging tee is ≥ 1/3 of the inner diameter of the main pipe, or when the inner diameter of the branch pipe is ≥ 300 mm, a longitudinal baffle should be installed at the inlet end of the branch pipe?
I also wonder; I’ve only seen stop bars used on a few individual tees.
I remember that this is a design requirement from a foreign engineering company; I can’t recall which specific company it was. But all the pigs we design are manufactured in accordance with these regulations. The main consideration is to ensure that the pig ball can pass through the main tube smoothly, preventing it from getting stuck in the branch tubes.
