Flow meters are industrial automation instruments and fall under the category of industrial products. As we all know, industrial products are consumable items; the longer they are used, the greater their wear and tear becomes, leading to various problems. Therefore, flow meters require regular maintenance, inspection, and replacement. So what problems can arise in vortex flowmeters during long-term operation? The main issues that occur after a vortex flowmeter has been in use for some time are: 1. Large fluctuations in the indication, making it impossible to obtain accurate readings ; 2. Indicate no zero return ; 3. Indicate permanent prohibition ; 4. No instructions at all ; 5. No indication at low flow rates ; 6. The K-factor of the meter cannot be determined ; 7. The indication is normal at high flow rates, but inaccurate at low flow rates ; 8. The indication does not keep up when the flow rate changes. Vortex flowmeters present many different issues in terms of design, installation, parameter setting, routine maintenance, and operation. Many problems are interrelated, which poses significant difficulties in solving them. Summarizing the main reasons for these problems, they mainly relate to the following aspects: sensor installation issues. The main reason is that the length of the straight tube in front of the sensor is insufficient, which affects the measurement accuracy. Issues with inverter parameter settings. The gauge shows incorrect readings due to wrong parameter settings. The same full-scale frequency renders the indication inaccurate over the long term. The actual full-scale frequency is too high. The calculated full-scale frequency causes the indication to fluctuate over a wide range, making it unreadable. To solve this problem, it is necessary to determine the parameters by recalibrating. Selection of flow meters. For example, with some vortex flow meter sensors, after the selection of diameter or design, changes in manufacturing conditions may lead to the choice of a larger size; however, in actual selection it is advisable to opt for a smaller diameter in order to improve measurement accuracy. In addition, a vortex street pipeline was also designed for use by multiple devices. Sometimes, certain devices fail to function, resulting in a decrease in actual flow. In practical use, the diameter selected in the original design is too large, which effectively raises the lower limit of the flow rate that can be measured. When the flow rate in the process pipeline is low, accurate indication cannot be guaranteed. It can still be used when the traffic is high. If reconstruction is to take place, it is sometimes too difficult, and the process can be challenging; changes in conditions are only temporary. It can be combined with parameter reset to improve indication accuracy.
