Some reaction kettles have a PTFE separation ring in the mechanical seal water jacket, to prevent direct collision and friction between the stirring shaft and the stirring hole in the middle of the seal head; If debris has already appeared, it is necessary to check the shaking of the mixer and whether the partition ring is deformed... Identifying the cause will resolve the issue!
PTFE flat gaskets generally have a thickness of 8-10 mm. To check the perpendicularity of the mixing spindle and its axial runout, a lever-type dial indicator can be used for measurement
If the mechanical seal leaks at this time (internal leakage), it may be due to the breakage of the auxiliary sealing ring, which has fallen into the tank; if there is no leakage from the mechanical seal at this time, then it could be debris resulting from the wear of the throttle ring that has fallen into the tank.
It is recommended to change the material of the friction pair; for food or cosmetic applications, FDA-approved materials should be used
