Introduction: Engineering plastics refer to polymer materials that can be used as structural materials, capable of withstanding mechanical stresses over a wide temperature range and functioning in relatively harsh physicochemical environments. With the rapid development of China’s national economy, the demand for engineering plastics in various industries across the country has grown swiftly. In particular, emerging industries as well as key industrial sectors and new areas of growth, such as electronics, automobiles, transportation, building materials, packaging, medical devices, and artificial organs, all require large quantities of engineering plastics with excellent properties. As a result, the demand for engineering plastics in China has increased dramatically in recent years. Driven by the development of industries such as automobiles and electronics, the demand for engineering plastics is expected to maintain a growth rate of around 5%, reaching approximately 11.46 million tons by 2015.
