Whenever we encounter damage to equipment, pipes, frames, etc. due to corrosion, we don’t know where to start with the analysis, and the factors taken into consideration are incomplete. It can lead to inaccurate or incomplete conclusions regarding metal equipment and similar items that have been damaged due to corrosion. This introduces uncertainty into the development of anti-corrosion measures for the next steps, making it impossible to accurately select materials for design and other purposes. Therefore, when considering metal corrosion and degradation, the following factors must be taken into account: ① the chemical composition and structure of the metal material itself ； ②Metal surface finish (oxygen concentration difference cell corrosion) ； ③Components of the solution in contact with the metal surface and pH value ； ④Ambient temperature and humidity ； ⑤Various environmental media in contact with the metal surface.
