Alkaline-alkali wastewater treatment equipment

I am currently working on a small project to reduce volume and remove chlorine from perchloro tar through alkaline treatment, and the approach is feasible. We are now planning to scale up the process; the alkali hydrolysis reactor is intended to be made of 304 stainless steel. However, since it will be in hot saline solution after alkali hydrolysis, there is a risk of corrosion to the stainless steel equipment. Would using a carbon steel reactor be a viable option?
Chloride corrosion is likely to occur. A corrosion-resistant isolation layer for carbon steel can be considered.
Be careful with temperature when using carbon steel lining with fiberglass reinforced plastic!
