How many coats of paint are usually applied to fire protection pipes, and how should cracks be repaired during installation?
Galvanized, with two coats of paint applied; a combination of epoxy anti-rust paint and polyurethane. For reference only!
Grind with a corneal grinder and then paint it
Two sides are enough, as the fire hose is inside the building; epoxy will suffice
Galvanized pipe? Applying a topcoat is enough; it will fall off eventually anyway, so just repaint it every one or two years
If the galvanized layer is not damaged, it’s still possible to apply paint directly; if sanding damages the galvanized layer, it’s not worth the cost.
It’s better to sand it first and then paint it; applying paint directly will result in an uneven surface.
