We know that the corrosion resistance lifespan of the inner walls of most crude oil storage tanks in refineries is generally around 4-6 years. Since crude oil contains water, which tends to accumulate below a depth of 1 meter, the salt content in this water is relatively high. The main forms of corrosion on the inner wall of the tank bottom are as follows: 1. Corrosion of the inner bottom plate is primarily caused by sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB), and it takes the form of pore corrosion; 2. The bottom plate beneath the columns is severely corroded, as a result of both mechanical friction and interstitial electrochemical corrosion ； 3. Electrochemical corrosion resulting in a large cathode and a small anode at the damaged area of the coating ； 4. The corrosion rate of the tank bottom plate can reach 2 mm/year. Measures should be taken; generally, a comprehensive anti-corrosion approach combining enhanced coating protection and electrochemical protection can be used.
