Horizontal oil storage tanks are used for storing crude oil and similar substances; they are made of Q235B material. Is it necessary to coat the inner surface with antistatic paint? I searched online, but it was quite confusing; there are no clear explanations. I hope someone experienced can tell me
The aqueous phase does not require antistatic properties, while the organic phase does. Therefore, it is recommended to choose an antistatic coating.
The price of paint for 20-cubic-meter tanks isn’t very different either; the application method is the same in both cases. So why not use antistatic paint? For safety reasons, it is recommended to use it.
There are petrochemical standards; the tanks have been built, it’s just the cost of the paint that’s still missing
