Please help me find out what material this insulation shell is made of. I knocked it and the sound was not metal.

The picture looks like a color steel plate (galvanized iron sheet with outer coating). You can judge by tapping it that it may be: The outer layer is very thin, usually 0.3-1.2mm, so it doesn’t sound like iron. ； You can see it by looking at the succession.
It looks like the galvanized iron sheet has been corroded over time, and a topcoat has been applied to the outer layer :o
