The image below shows corrosion that occurred in the tube bundle of a petrochemical water cooler (with circulating water flowing through the tube side) within less than a year of use. What protective methods can be used to prevent corrosion?
Under-scale corrosion: if it is not possible to change the material of the heat exchange tubes, then anti-corrosion treatment should be applied to them. I currently have several shell-side units that have anti-corrosion coatings applied, and the results are quite good.
