What material is suitable for the part of the pump that handles fluids? Our company is currently using a centrifugal pump made of 316L material, and it is suffering from severe corrosion. Is the problem related to the choice of material, or is it a defect in the pump itself (the pump body was not made of 316L as intended by the manufacturer)? We are not able to test the material composition of the pump body, so we cannot verify this
Is the operating temperature room temperature? Use fluorinated lining material for corrosion resistance. .
There are obvious corrosion pits on the impeller; it’s probably not cavitation. Moreover, the small tube used for flushing the mechanical seal is also leaking
Can this type of pump be protected against corrosion using paint?
Then use fluorine-lined material; compared to 316L, it offers better cost-performance.
Is fluorine lining applied to the impeller? Is there a special type of dry fluorine lining available?
