This tube bundle has been in use for over a year, and the oil and gas in the shell side have caused significant corrosion to the outer wall of the tube bundle. This type of corrosion falls under the H2S-ClH-H2O system corrosion; it is recommended to apply a coating on the inner and outer walls of the tube bundle to prevent corrosion.
After about one year of use, the vacuum degasifier pre-condenser in petrochemical equipment suffered significant corrosion on its outer wall, as the oil and gas flowing in the shell side contained highly corrosive substances such as H2S, HCl, and H2O.
