The images below show the tube bundle of the tertiary water cooler in the atmospheric and vacuum distillation towers used in the petrochemical industry. Model FB800-150-16-6, tube bundle material: 10# steel. The operating condition is that the tube side uses circulating water, while the shell side uses a three-line system ; Operating temperature: 30 degrees for the tube side and 117 degrees for the shell side ; The pressure in the tube side is 0.6 MPa, and that in the shell side is 0.69 MPa. This tube bundle has been in use for over 2 years, and a large amount of scale has accumulated on the circulating water side, along with corrosion, which affects the cooling performance of the water cooler. The outer wall of the tube bundle is protected against corrosion using 7910 coating (epoxy-amine); once this coating is damaged or peels off, its protective function is lost. The temperature of the minus-third line is below 150 degrees, and there are corrosive agents such as HCl, H2S, and H2O, making metal equipment susceptible to corrosion. It is recommended to apply a coating for corrosion protection to this tube bundle; in particular, a coating suitable for the media used in this process should be chosen for the outer walls of the tube bundle.
It is recommended to use heat-resistant and chemically resistant coatings for re-coating the outer wall of the tube bundle, in order to extend the equipment’s service life and improve cooling efficiency. The interior of the tube bundle should also be cleaned regularly to remove scale and prevent corrosion. .
