Damage to the coating caused by welding

There are damage issues in the coating adjacent to the weld. Welding melting can interfere with and disrupt the adhesion of the coating, and may even accelerate corrosion beneath the film. Welding spatter can cause uneven defects, which must be removed before coating can be applied; otherwise, it may lead to underfilm corrosion, pitted rust, and peeling. The molten material resulting from welding should first be scraped or chiseled away; it is best to grind it to a relatively flat surface before proceeding with sandblasting cleaning.
During welding, the coating adjacent to the weld is easily damaged. High temperatures can cause the coating to fail to adhere properly, and rust is also likely to form beneath the coating. Spatter from welding can leave the surface pitted; it must be cleaned thoroughly before applying a new coating, otherwise rust, bubbling, or even peeling may occur under the coating. During processing, first scrape off or grind flat the slag; it is best to also clean the surface with sandblasting so that the coating can adhere firmly. .
The temperature during welding is very high; ordinary Belzona coatings are generally not suitable for use in such conditions. However, there are heat-resistant variants available, though the actual temperature still cannot exceed that of welding
