The image below shows the casing of the induced draft fan for a heating furnace in a petrochemical plant. After more than a year of use, it was found that not only was soot accumulating on the casing, but more importantly, the metal surface was severely corroded with some areas even showing perforations. What anti-corrosion measures should be taken in this situation?
