I have a question regarding HYSYS dynamic control: is there a logical switch that can monitor the liquid content at the evaporator outlet? When liquid is present, I want one valve to close while the other opens, so as to prevent liquid from entering the expander. When everything is in gaseous state, I want the valves to operate in the opposite manner. I’ve tried for several days but haven’t found such a function (the valve opening degree is either 100% or 0%). I’m seeking advice from experts.
Industrial processes are never designed in such an ideal manner; however, an adiabatic isobaric separator can be installed at the evaporator outlet, with the liquid phase going to 102 and the vapor phase going to 103; As a precaution, an additional separator can be added before entering the turbine to remove condensate.
Our equipment is equipped with this device, but it lacks a gas-liquid separator; the control logic exists only during the startup process. When the temperature/pressure at the turbine inlet does not reach the required levels, the valves do not switch. The design provides a relatively large superheat during normal operation, so flow continues to the turbine without any back-and-forth switching. Then, when the machine is shut down, air is not allowed to enter the turbine; it is diverted around it instead. Industrial processes must exist as well, such as when a certain temperature is reached, the cooling fluid is activated, and so on.
