Using the Aspen software to search for azeotropes, only three binary azeotropes were found: **furan-ethanol, ethanol-water,** and furan-water; all of these are minimum azeotropes. There should be a ternary azeotrope in this system – why isn’t it detectable? Please ask an expert for help!

The reply is quite correct. The presence of binary azeotropes does not necessarily imply the existence of a ternary azeotrope. Conversely, the absence of binary azeotropes does not mean there are no ternary azeotropes. Specifically, whether a ternary azeotrope exists must be determined through experiments. Incidentally, theoretical developments are not yet complete, so it is not possible to predict with 100% certainty whether a ternary azeotrope exists.
