Dear Haiyou engineers, what type of pumps are used in vacuum systems? We can discuss and exchange ideas. If the pump is not selected properly, it often fails to deliver fluid properly. For vacuum units, water-ring and Roots pumps work very well, but it’s essential to buy those from reputable manufacturers.

In vacuum distillation of organic systems, using water ring vacuum pumps, will a certain amount of wastewater or waste liquid be generated?
If there is a concern about wastewater generation, a piston-type pump can be chosen. We have used an oil-free vertical vacuum pump in the past, and it performed very well; the evacuated gas stream could be sent directly to the flare.
Using a screw vacuum pump is quite good!
Screw vacuum pumps are delicate; the gas phase must not contain liquid; Water ring pumps are durable, but they generate additional wastewater ;
A rough vacuum is acceptable, but it will also generate more wastewater, increasing costs accordingly…
There are too many types of vacuum systems available; it still depends on your process requirements. For example, the required vacuum level, the amount of gas to be removed, as well as the properties of the medium being pumped, such as its corrosiveness and whether it contains solid particles, etc…
