I feel that software like PDMS or PDSoft is more professional, as it comes with many libraries of piping components used in the chemical industry; there’s no need to use 3DMax, right? Isn’t 3dmax widely used in industries such as interior design, animation, and film?
Rendering and the like are superior, aiming for realistic effects.
It seems that the original poster has a limited understanding of 3D design. 3D design isn’t just about stacking design elements that need to be brought to life in a realistic form; it also involves breaking these elements down into components and materials, in order to create the material lists and purchase orders required for engineering purposes. 3dmax is merely an artistic rendering software; it can produce passable panoramic and aerial views.
I understand what you mean; it’s just not expressed clearly. Factory design requires a material list, and I’ve never used 3DMax, so I’m not sure if it’s possible to export one.
3dmax does not have this feature.
Simply put, the drawings created by software such as CAD, SW, and UG are vector graphics. 3D is a bitmap. Vector graphics can all be processed to generate OFFICE files directly, whether through plugins or by performing custom development. With bitmaps, there’s nothing that can be done; they are essentially composed of countless pixels. Just think about Photoshop to understand this.
