On February 29, the finals of the first National Chemical Industry AI Competition came to an end in Beijing. It is understood that 394 teams from 159 universities and 85 enterprises across the country participated in this competition, resulting in the development of over 100 scenarios and 200 chemical industry applications. Among them, 16 teams advanced to the finals, where 1 grand prize, 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 9 third prizes were awarded. The “Sinan Gasification RTO Team” from Hangzhou Smart Sinan Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. won the grand prize, while the “Xunjin Molu Daochangzai” team from Tianjin University and the “Zhihang Catalysis” team from Beijing University of Chemical Technology won the first prize. Li Yunpeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, said that the holding of this competition is of great significance for promoting the application of artificial intelligence in the chemical industry. It provides a platform for researchers, corporate technical teams, and related professionals to showcase their innovative achievements and exchange technical experiences. It also offers enterprises valuable practical references, which helps to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence technology across the industry. “The competition is a starting point, not an end point. In the future, we will adhere to the four guiding principles of \"based on actual customer needs, value-driven scenarios, real data, and practical commercial application.\" Taking the first Chemical Industry AI Competition as an opportunity, we will further unite forces from academia, industry, research institutions, users, and investment sectors.
