Pilot production begins at the world’s largest Shenyuan caprolactam project in Fujian / Author/Source: Yaha Consulting, Yaha Coal Chemicals / Date: 2017-09-18 / Clicks: 59 Recently, the world’s largest Shenyuan caprolactam project, built by Aerospace Changzheng Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. under the First Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, began pilot production in Lianjiang City, Fujian Province. It is reported that the Shenyuan caprolactam project, also known as the Air Liquide Fujian gasification project, relies on hydrogen and synthetic ammonia supplied by the French company Air Liquide; this is Air Liquide’s first gasification project invested in China. The total investment in this project is 420 million yuan, with a land area of approximately 329 mu. It includes multiple process units such as gasification and low-temperature methanol washing, along with supporting utility systems and auxiliary facilities. Located in the Kemeng Economic Development Zone in Lianjiang, Fujian Province, this project utilizes space-based gasification technology to supply hydrogen and synthetic ammonia directly to Shenyuan’s 400,000 tons per year lactam production facility, enabling the production of 75,000 standard cubic meters per hour of hydrogen and 250,000 tons per year of ammonia. On June 19, 2017, the first coal feeding to Gasifier A of the Liquair China Fujian gasification project, undertaken by the Aerospace Engineering Company, was successful. On August 9, 2017, the 400,000 tons per year polyamide integrated production project of Fujian Shenyuan New Materials Co., Ltd., constructed by Sinochem Third Construction, was successfully commissioned, producing qualified products.
