On September 12, the 7th Member Conference of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association was held in Beijing. Wang Jiangping, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Li Shousheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Petrochemical Federation; Cai Ronghua, Deputy Director of the Industrial Development Department of the National Development and Reform Commission; Chen Kaimin, Deputy Director of the Raw Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Gu Zongqin, President of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association; and more than 300 representatives from member enterprises attended the meeting. In his speech, Vice Minister Wang Jiangping emphasized that China’s nitrogen fertilizer industry has made significant contributions to ensuring the country’s food security, and as China’s food industry undergoes transformation and adjustment, the nitrogen fertilizer industry also needs to transform itself. In response, he put forward three suggestions: first, adhere to the new development concept ； Second, accelerate integration with next-generation information technologies to promote the intelligent, digital, and networked development of industries, thereby improving operational efficiency and enhancing intrinsic safety ； Third, accelerate the transformation of production methods and the production landscape of enterprises, integrate fertilization with other processes, and become productive service-oriented enterprises. President Li Shousheng believes that the world economy will be characterized by uncertainty in the coming years, and he hopes that the industry will take new steps forward by focusing on fertilizers while also exploring alternatives to them. There should be significant improvements in the variety and quality of fertilizers, with a particular emphasis on making bold moves toward a transition into the chemical industry. The conference heard and reviewed the work report titled \"Strengthen Confidence, Work Together, and Jointly Write a New Chapter in the Development of the Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry,\" presented by Comrade Gu Zongqin on behalf of the Sixth Council. The work report reviews and summarizes the achievements as well as the existing problems in the nitrogen fertilizer industry and the work of the association over the past five years, and puts forward suggestions for the work of the new term of the association: first, taking supply-side structural reform as the main focus, make every effort to promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry ； Second, driven by technological innovation, continuously enhance the core competitiveness of the industry ； Third, with green development as the guide, make comprehensive efforts to tackle the challenges related to work safety and pollution control ； Fourth, with the goal of meeting the new demands of modern agricultural development, efforts are made to transform existing production and operation models ； Fifth, taking the Belt and Road Initiative as an opportunity, continuously deepen international exchanges and cooperation ； Sixth, staying true to the original mission of the \"service industry,\" efforts are made to enhance the association’s capacity to fulfill its responsibilities. The conference elected Comrade Gu Zongqin as the president of the new council, Comrades Zhao Xuebin, Wang Weimin, Zhang Jincheng, and Liu Xingxu as senior vice presidents, 18 comrades including Fan Diancai, Yu Fuhong, Wang Zhihe, Feng Zhiwu, Ning Zhongpei, Zhang Zhaozhen, Zhang Shiqiang, Chen Shengnan, Li Xiaodong, Li Wanqing, Li Zhijian, Zhang Guorui, Zhou Jinhua, Zheng Bijun, Tan Fuyuan, Liang Runbiao, Liang Hong, and Lei Lin as vice presidents, and Comrade Wang Liqing as secretary-general. The 7th Council of the Nitrogen Fertilizer Association consists of 51 executive directors and 153 directors. *The 7th Council and Supervisory Board of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association were elected, with Comrade Cao Zhanggao serving as the chairman of the supervisory board. The conference also voted to approve the amendments to the statutes, the adjustment of membership fees, and the change of name from the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association to the China Nitrogen Fertilizer and Syngas Industry Association. During the conference, the first meeting of the seventh governing council was held, during which resolutions were passed on establishing an advisory committee, designating the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange as an honorary vice-chairman entity, appointing a deputy secretary-general and heads for the association’s administrative offices. The meeting also announced the results of the 2020 corporate credit rating assessment (second batch); Sichuan Jinxiang Sairui Chemical Co., Ltd., Sichuan Lutianhua Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Fengdeng Environmental Protection Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Huachang Chemical Co., Ltd., Hebei Dongguang Chemical Co., Ltd., Yunnan Dawa Ammonia Production Co., Ltd., and Haohua Junhua Group Co., Ltd. received an AAA credit rating. Adhering to the principles of simplicity and efficiency, and through the joint efforts of all members, the conference successfully completed all the scheduled agenda items. During the conference, a seminar on the development of the nitrogen fertilizer and methanol industries during the 14th Five-Year Plan period was also held.
