The wastewater from high-concentration compound fertilizer production contains relatively high concentrations of ammonia and nitrogen. I would like to ask my peers: how can this wastewater be treated economically and effectively?

I also have experience working at a wastewater treatment plant. To determine the wastewater treatment process, it is necessary to first know the volume of wastewater generated and its quality characteristics (such as COD, NH3-N, SS, the BOD/COD ratio, and the presence of various harmful impurities). Since compound fertilizer plants generally produce relatively little wastewater, it is preferable to have it treated collectively by local biochemical plants (breweries, citric acid plants, monosodium glutamate plants, etc.) or wastewater treatment plants.
This wastewater contains useful fertilizers such as nitrogen and phosphorus. It is best to feed it into a granulator for use; during the acid-ammonia process, it can be used to dilute sulfuric acid. Alternatively, when producing dry ammonia from ammonium chloride, it can also be added to the mixing tank to produce fertilizer granules—killing two birds with one stone.
