At 11:15 a.m. on September 19, the new tower in the refining coal-based hydrogen production circulating water system of Maoming Petrochemical’s Water Operations Department was successfully tested, and water supply was established steadily, marking the successful completion of the expansion and renovation project for this system. The circulating water system for the coal-based hydrogen production unit in the Water Operations Department of Maoming Petrochemical was put into operation in October 2013, primarily providing circulating cooling water for the coal-based hydrogen production facility and the new air separation unit. As the operating load of the production units gradually increases, the demand for circulating water also rises. To enhance the water supply and cooling capacity of the water treatment facility, meet the needs of the production units for circulating cooling water, and ensure the stable operation of both the production units and the circulating water system, starting in November 2019, the Water Operations Department carried out expansion works at the coal-to-hydrogen circulating water facility. A new cooling tower with a single tower processing capacity of 5,000 cubic meters per hour was built, along with associated structures such as a water tank beneath the tower, a suction tank, circulating water pumps, and various instrumentation and electrical facilities.
