On the morning of September 27, the 2020 New Product R&D Project Presentation Meeting and Field Visit were held as scheduled. The R&D project review meeting was held in Conference Room 3 of the Nitrogen Fertilizer Research Center. Liu Xingxu, the chairman of the group company, Zhang Qingjin, the general manager, along with all the middle and senior management officials of the company, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Li Shengjun, the director of the Technology Center. At the meeting, Liu Ruijie, the manager of the Product Development Department, gave a detailed explanation of the products launched in 2020 as well as the approaches for future research and development efforts. He focused on the directions, levels, and models of R&D, as well as the design and innovation in training R&D personnel, from four aspects: low cost, differentiation, improved management, and team building. Through the presentation of field performance, yield measurement data, and farmers’ feedback from 14 representative projects, company leaders at all levels gained a more intuitive understanding of the current progress in product development. Subsequently, Manager Liu Ruijie and Guo Jingli, head of the Product Research Department, answered the questions raised by the leaders regarding the new products. The group then proceeded to the intelligent greenhouse in the technology center. Starting with the integration of the R&D process, and relying on the R&D platform established by the company, Guo Jingli presented a comprehensive and varied overview of the breadth and depth of the fields involved in product R&D projects. This was done through various methods such as presentations of project displays, observations of experiments related to fundamental research mechanisms, displays of actual crops harvested from the fields, and live demonstrations of the water solubility of new fertilizers. In the local corn demonstration field, Guo Jingli, taking into account the growth of the corn plants in the field, explained in detail the effects of humic acid fertilizers, loss-control fertilizers, and stable fertilizers on corn, as well as their role in increasing corn yields, focusing on aspects such as the number of leaves on the corn cobs and the degree of leaf greenness. The participants engaged in lively discussions on the spot. Finally, Chairman Liu Xingxu made detailed plans and arrangements from the perspective of the group’s macro-level development. He pointed out that it is necessary to take market demand as the starting point, achieve integration of supply, production, sales, research, and planning, systematically plan and promote the products developed that are well-received by farmers, and involve everyone in marketing efforts.
