Ningxia Coal Industry’s laser-marked grade polyoxymethylene product fills a gap in China’s market. Author/Source: **Energy Group. Date: 2021-07-28. Clicks: 10. On July 6, with the successful trial production of laser-marked grade polyoxymethylene products by the company’s 60,000-ton/year polyoxymethylene plant, **Energy Group’s Ningxia Coal Industry developed China’s first laser-marked grade polyoxymethylene product. The product is suitable for marking with 1064nm near-infrared lasers and 355nm ultraviolet lasers, filling a gap in the domestic market. Laser-marked polyoxymethylene products feature fine marking patterns, wear resistance, and high quality; the information stored on them remains permanent, facilitating the identification and tracing of the products. In recent years, the automotive and electronic components industries have demanded traceability for each stage of production, and the technology for \"printing\" barcodes on the surfaces of polyoxymethylene components was previously a challenge for this industry. The successful trial production of laser-marked polyoxymethylene products has completely resolved this issue; there is a large market demand in China and considerable economic benefits associated with it. Since the beginning of this year, Ningmei Methanol Branch has combined Party history learning and education with efforts to foster innovative development and open up new prospects. It has actively promoted the research and development of new products; by relying on the branch’s overall plans for new product development, it has organized technical personnel to conduct in-depth analyses of the performance parameters of laser-marking-grade polyoxymethylene products. Production plans and product formulas were carefully developed, and close collaboration was established with Sichuan University to carry out further research. A range of effective measures were taken to overcome various difficulties, and ultimately, trial production was successful.
