Enerchem Public Utilities Center: Successful commissioning of the expanders in the air separation unit / Author/Source: Harmonious Enerchem / Date: 10-12-2020 / Clicks: 8 On October 2, the commissioning of the two key expanders in the air separation unit as part of the 1 million-ton methanol project was successfully completed. Thanks to the careful efforts of all those involved in the commissioning process, the domestic-made expanders were commissioned at 10:50 a.m., while the imported expanders were commissioned at 15:10. All performance indicators met the required standards, achieving the intended goals for the commissioning process. The second-phase air separation unit is equipped with 2 expanders, one imported and one domestic. The flow rate in the pressurization section is ~107,500 Nm3/h; the inlet and outlet pressures of the pressurizers are ~5.49/7.03 MPa(A). The flow rate in the expansion section is ~76,000 Nm3/h; the inlet and outlet pressures of the expanders are ~2.974/0.5244 MPa(A). The successful completion of the expansion machine commissioning work for the air separation unit has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent commissioning of other units in the air separation process.
